How Much Does It Cost to Build a SaaS Product?

A SaaS MVP can cost ₹3 lakh or ₹30 lakh. Here's what sits behind the range and how to spend the least to learn the most.

"How much to build my SaaS?" is really three questions: how much to validate it, to launch it, and to scale it. Conflating them is how founders overspend by 10x. Here's the honest map for 2026.

Stage 1 — The MVP (₹3,00,000 – ₹12,00,000)

The goal here is not a finished product. It's the smallest thing that proves people will pay. One core workflow, auth, a basic dashboard, and a payment. Nothing else. A tight MVP takes weeks, not months, and the price tracks how many features you refuse to build.

Stage 2 — The real product (₹12,00,000 – ₹40,00,000+)

Once the MVP shows demand, you build for real: multi-tenant architecture, billing and subscriptions, admin tooling, onboarding, integrations, and the polish that makes people stay. This is where most of the money goes, and rightly so.

Stage 3 — Scale (ongoing)

Performance, reliability, security, and the features your growing users demand. SaaS is never "done" — it's a product you keep sharpening.

What actually moves the price

  • Scope discipline. Every "wouldn't it be cool if…" feature is real money. The cheapest SaaS is the one that does one thing brilliantly.
  • Custom vs off-the-shelf. Auth, payments and email should be integrated, not built from scratch. Pay to build only your unique logic.
  • Design + UX. A confusing SaaS churns users no matter how good the engineering. Good UX pays for itself.
  • Who builds it. A cheap team that ships fragile code costs more once you're refactoring it under real load.

The founder's move

Spend the least to learn the most. Build a lean MVP, get real users and revenue, then invest in scale with evidence — not before. Building the full dream first is the classic, expensive mistake.

We build and scale SaaS products from MVP to production. See how we scope it on our SaaS development in Dehradun page, or tell us your idea for a fixed MVP quote.
