Generator on Hire for Construction Sites in Dehradun

Site power is a different problem to event power: the hire runs for weeks rather than an evening, the equipment is motor-heavy with severe startup surge, and the set has to sit outdoors through dust and weather. We hire 7.5 kW, 60 kW and 125 kW sets for construction and site work across Dehradun and Uttarakhand, on weekly and monthly terms.

What you’re actually powering

Mixers & vibrators

Concrete mixers and needle vibrators are motor loads with a heavy startup draw — often the single biggest factor in set sizing.

Welding & cutting

Welding sets pull hard and intermittently. The spiky profile matters more than the average figure on the nameplate.

Power tools & compressors

Drills, grinders, cutters and compressors — individually modest, collectively significant when several crews work at once.

Site lighting & temporary offices

Flood lighting for evening work plus the site office, which usually wants a stable supply for computers and cooling.

Pumps

Dewatering and water supply pumps, which run long and start hard.

What size you need

Guidance, not a guarantee — the equipment list decides it.

Small site — tools, lighting and a site office

7.5 kW

Handles hand tools, temporary lighting and an office, provided nothing large-motor runs on it.

Active site — mixers, vibrators, multiple crews

60 kW

Absorbs the startup surge of a mixer while still running tools, lighting and the office in parallel.

Large or multi-crew site with welding

125 kW

Welding plus simultaneous motor loads across several crews, with three-phase distribution over a large footprint.

What actually goes wrong

Sized on running watts, not surge

The commonest and most expensive mistake on site. A mixer that runs at 5 kW can pull 15 kW starting. Size for that moment or the set trips daily.

Single-phase set for three-phase equipment

Most site machinery is three-phase. A set with the right kW but wrong phase simply won't drive it — confirm phase before hire, not on delivery.

No plan for fuel over a long run

Hire of weeks or months makes running cost, not day rate, the number that matters. Work that out at quoting stage.

Placement decided on delivery day

Cable runs, weather exposure, refuelling access and distance from occupied buildings are all easier to solve before the set arrives.

Construction & Site Power generator hire — FAQs

Do you hire generators on a monthly basis for construction sites?

Yes — site work is normally weekly or monthly rather than daily, and it's quoted that way. Tell us the expected duration and we'll price the term properly rather than multiplying a day rate.

What size DG set do I need for a construction site?

It's driven by your heaviest motor load, not the total. A small site with tools and lighting runs on 7.5 kW; an active site with mixers usually needs 60 kW; welding and multiple crews point to 125 kW. Send us the equipment list and we'll size it against the startup surge.

Is the generator three-phase?

Phase requirement depends on your equipment, and getting it wrong is the most common cause of a set that "doesn't work" on site. Tell us what you're running and we'll confirm the right unit before anything is booked.

Do you deliver to sites outside Dehradun?

We serve Dehradun, Mussoorie, Rishikesh, Haridwar and the wider Doon Valley, with outstation on request. Share the site location and we'll confirm.

Send us your load list

Tell us the equipment, the venue or site, and the hours. We’ll size it against startup surge and quote the right set — including if that’s smaller than you expected.
